Below are details of some of our most popular re-maps. If you cant see what you require please get in touch as we offer far more bespoke and less common re-maps.
Please note that some re-maps are for vehicles that are not to be used on a public highway. With any remap we will give you full details of the work that is to be carried out and will state on invoices not for road use if it does not conform with UK environmental and Highway codes and legislation. Mr ECU will not be liable for any breaches or understanding of these laws by the client in relation to any re-map or work carried. Stage 1
The stage 1 ECU tune is designed specifically for a completely stock car, keeping ignition timing and boost levels at a point that will not cause too much heat and load on the engine, no matter where you are in the rev range. A Stage 1 remap could be a simple economy map to gain more mpg, or more commonly, drivers want it to enhance their car’s performance. This consists of a Stage 1 file map, and can include various upgrades for air filter panel / induction kit.
This file is designed to lift the performance within the manufacturer’s parameters giving more power without major mechanical alterations.
Stage 1 is the level of remapping that is used to ensure a safe level of increased performance for your car.
Stage 2
This file along with supporting mods adds slightly more power. To get the full benefits of a Stage 2 Map you would need to upgrade the following:-
Exhaust – An aftermarket exhaust system. This will comprise of a decat or sports cat downpipe, depending on your intended use, coupled with an oversized cat-back exhaust.
Intercooler (upgraded) – Required at this level of tuning due to the increased boost pressure and timing advance by the ECU remap. This, in turn, will create more heat, meaning you will need to upgrade the intercooler to counteract this increase. An upgraded intercooler has a much greater core construction, a larger surface area, and potentially a bigger inlet and outlet from the intercooler.
Induction kit – It is imperative to feed your turbocharger/supercharger with well filtered, cold air so the intercooler doesn’t have to work as hard to cool the heated air passing through to the throttle body.
Stage 2 will raise the power closer to the top end of manufacturer power limits while still being within the vehicles safe parameters.
Stage 3
A Stage 3 Remap is unlikely to be suitable for everyday car use and is more of a track day modification. Numerous up-rated hardware additions will be required in this fully bespoke remap. We do not offer stage 3 tuning but can put you in touch with the right people at Viezu to ensure your vehicle has the correct upgrades and get you booked in to get this set-up at there workshop on their dynamometer.
Pop & Bang
This feature is also referred to as deceleration map, crackle map, anti-lag, exhaust crackle, popcorn, pop on overrun, exhaust overrun, burbles etc.
This re-map is related to the deceleration of your vehicle or lift off, by creating a delay at the cut-off time of fuel injection after you move your foot off the accelerator or by creating a delay in the engine ignition timing.
There are 2 stages of pop and bangs tune customisation. Stage 1 is basic customisation that is not too extreme. Things are very controlled at this level and ensure greater safety within the components of your vehicle.
With a stage 2 pop and bang re-map the catalytic converter has to be removed from the car for safety purposes.
Economy
This map is all about optimising fuel economy based on your normal driving style. This type of map will give you increased fuel economy of up to 20% which could be increased further if used in conjunction with a Terraclean carbon service.
Allrounder
An all-round re-map will give you increased fuel economy (up to 10%) along with an increase of around 50% of what you would get with a stage 1 re-map. So increased performance along with money saving fuel economy.
